Auction of Celebrity Designed Dora and Nickelodeon Beyond the Backpack

Nickelodeon is promoting their Beyond the Backpack program designed to getting kids ready for school. Backpacks designed by several different celebrities are being auctioned at http://www.charitybuzz.com/auctions/dora. The actual backpacks are on display in New York at Macy’s Herald Square. These backpacks have designed by Jessica Alba, Drew Brees, Sheryl Crow, Faith Hill, LeBron James, Heidi Klum, John Leguizamo, Eva Longoria Parker, Salma Hayek Pinault, Shakira, Slash, and Matthew McConaughey and Camilla Alves. Proceeds from the sale of the custom designed backpacks will go to the Children’s Defense Fund. The auctions of the backpacks run through September 3, 2010.

According to Celebrity Gossip, Jessica Alba and her husband wore costumes that their daughter might be very familiar with. Alba wore an adult Dora the Explorer costume and her husband went as Dora’s cousin Diego. The couple wore the costumes for, “Project Runway” host, Heidi Klum’ Halloween party. Dora and Diego costumes are available for children, adults and dogs.
