During the collection of the 2010 United States Census Dora the Explorer was part of a public service campaign to encourage everyone in English and Spanish speaking markets to submit their data. Now that television campaign by MTV networks has won 2nd place in the Excellence in Multi-cultural Marketing Awards (EMMA) for its television campaign. EMMA is an award given by the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC).

Turning ten is cool for any little girl. Dora the Explorer is 10 and she is celebrating in many different ways. A new Dora “We Did It” doll is being introduced, that has more features than its predecessor. This new doll is part of celebrating 10 years of Dora the Explorer. In 2002 we were first introduced to the original Dora “We Did It” doll. Now in 2010 the Dora the Explorer “We Did It” doll is taking advantage of the advancement in technology.
The original Dora doll sang the "We Did It" song and swayed back and forth to the music. Eight years of technological advances later, Fisher-Price turns the new Dora doll into a truly magical experience as Dora comes to life like never before. This year, Dora moves her arms, swings her beautiful long hair and swivels her body to the beat as she teaches kids the steps to her signature dance and engages them with four modes of interactive play: Teach-Me (where Dora teaches kids the "We Did It!" Dance), "We Did It!" Dance, Freeze Dance, and Say It Two Ways bilingual dance game.

Nickelodeon is promoting their Beyond the Backpack program designed to getting kids ready for school. Backpacks designed by several different celebrities are being auctioned at http://www.charitybuzz.com/auctions/dora. The actual backpacks are on display in New York at Macy’s Herald Square. These backpacks have designed by Jessica Alba, Drew Brees, Sheryl Crow, Faith Hill, LeBron James, Heidi Klum, John Leguizamo, Eva Longoria Parker, Salma Hayek Pinault, Shakira, Slash, and Matthew McConaughey and Camilla Alves. Proceeds from the sale of the custom designed backpacks will go to the Children’s Defense Fund. The auctions of the backpacks run through September 3, 2010.

Pleasure Beach, Blackpool in is a 114 year-old amusement park located in Blackpool, Lancashire, England. Families have been enjoying attractions on 42-acre amusement park for generations as it grown from just having a few railway rides to large roller coasters and huge attractions. Now the park is adding more attractions that children will be familiar with from today’s pop culture. Nickelodeon Land will be opened at Pleasure Beach, Blackpool in 2011 with several different themed rides and attractions from some of Nickelodeon UK‘s popular shows. Of course Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants will be two to the featured shows and characters at Nickelodeon Land. Other popular shows that will be part of the Nickelodeon Land will be The Fairly Odd Parents and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Dora the Explorer Live made its way to Australia this year; its first time ever. Residents are all too happy to have Dora the Explorer Live performances. The Geelong Advertiser in Australia is giving away 15 family 4-pack of tickets to Dora the Explorer Live! Search for the City of Lost Toys. Tickets will be for a 1:30 pm performance at the Geelong Performing Arts Centre Saturday August 14, 2010. The entry deadline is midnight July 27, 2010.

Nickelodeon Storytime Live! will have be performed at the Long Center in Austin, Texas on August 17 and 18th. Nickelodeon Storytime Live! is a live stage performance of many of Nickelodeon’s popular preschool shows. Dora the Explorer, The Backyardigans, Ni Hao Kai-Lan, and The Wonder Pets are each performed live during Nickelodeon Storytime Live! Earlier this year Nickelodeon Storytime Live! exceeded expectations and more tour dates were added to the original schedule.

Parent Tested Parent Approved Media tests several different products and provides objective feedback. One product recently tested, Dora the Explorer Talking Digital Camera, has received the approval of the organization. The Dora digital camera is created with young children in mind.
Judges praised the Dora the Explorer Talking Digital Camera for the talking feature, ease of use, durability, and integrated software and activities making it “more than just a camera.” Features singled out as being particularly appealing to child testers included the ability to edit photos, make Dora labels, and hear Dora provide verbal encouragement.

TomTom is a popular GPS system. An audible voice gives people directions to their destination. TomTom comes with several preinstalled voices. Users can add different voices to their TomTom, they can even create their navigation voice for their TomTom.
Dora the Explorer is now one the voices that users can add to their TomTom Navigation system. Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants voices are available for purchase at $12.95.There are also start-up images, one of Dora and another of SpongeBob SquarePants, that are available for free. The images and voices are available at the TomTom website.
Dora and SpongeBob are not the first characters to give voices to navigation. Homer Simpson of the Simpsons animated television season lends his voice to the navigate travelers on the TomTom system. Some other characters and celebrity personalities have recorded their voice for TomTom and other GPS. You can ride along with David Hasellhoff and Mr.T.
While Mr. T would be great for older audiences, Dora would probably appeal more to moms and dads that want to provide a little entertainment to their preschoolers.

SNUGGIE" Up With Dora The Explorer
It seems that just the other day the Snuggie became popular. Although it did inspire a lot of jokes the whole concept made you say, “wow!” We all like to keep warm when it is cold outside and hate having to constantly pull up the blanket. But who would have thought of creating a blanket with sleeves. That is a pretty minimalistic definition, but the idea is so simple and genius at the same time. Snuggie’s popularity has resulted in the creation of different designs.
Now, in time for next winter season is the Dora the Explorer Snuggie. Kids can wear Snuggies with Dora the Explorer or SpongeBob SquarePants. Dora clothing is popular with young kids, so the Dora Snuggie is probably going to be well received.
